When Boston University alum and entrepreneur Richard Shipley was diagnosed with prostate cancer he was dismayed at how limited and "barbaric" (his own words) his options were. He came to BU with an offer: he would fund a prostate cancer research center if the University would create a prostate cancer resource for men everywhere.

We interviewed the urology and oncology teams at BU-affiliated medical centers. Prostate cancer care was quickly evolving and appropriate tests and treatments could be unclear. Time spent researching patient stories on prostate cancer forums revealed a lot of uncertainty. And most existing sources of information were biased by connection with clinical practices or pharmaceutical brands advocating specific treatments.

Our site focuses on the patient's decision making process, with tools that sort treatment options by aspects important to the user and articles that explain the cancer care process in clear and exacting detail. I served as content strategist, information architect and copywriter on this project.
